#APC12 - Day 30 #HUG

A perfect way to round the month off. What an awesome time I had. I made some cool connections with some super talented people and I got to further refine my photo taking skills.

#APC12 - Day 23 - #HANDWRITING

I have always loved my Dad's handwriting

#APC12 - Day 22 - #CIRCLES

#APC 12 - Day 21 - #BOOKS

I've got a lot of books okay???

#APC12 - Day 20 - #CAP

The closest thing I have to a cap.

I bought this in Hawaii where I saw heaps of Sugar Cane Workers rocking these.

#APC12 - Day 18 - #HAND/S

This is a plaster cast of my daughter's hand at approx 4 years of age.  The Whanganui District Council were going to make another handspan sculpture, and collected up heaps of these from Whanganui kids.  However their plans didn't go ahead and we got to have this back.  It's quite awesome.

#APC12 - Day 18 - #STRING

This hangs in my corridor.  It has three white stone hearts (couldn't fit all of them into the shot) and then I added the stuffed heart up above
YOU HAVE MY HEART ON A STRING

#APC12 - Day 17 - #STREETART

This one was probably my fav (to date)

I went for a massive walk at lunchtime and saw so much beautiful graffiti and things of a street art nature.

More and more of these are popping up around my city and that makes me HAPPY!  My fav kind of STREET ART

#APC12 - Day 16 #PRINTS

I couldn't think of anything for this one.  Then I looked at my coffee table and saw this Playschool book that I found when I was out garage saleing the weekend before.

Out of #PRINT

#APC12 - Day 15 - #TECHNOLOGY

A small selection of the 127 photos my son took of himself when he stole off with my phone, hid under our office desk  and figured out the iPhone.  Technology for ya!

#APC12 - Day 14 #SHADOW

Today I literally took so many photos of shadows!

It was a perfect Shadow day. But this is what I went with in the end.

My daughter and I biked from home to the River Trader Markets.  She begged for me to let her spend her pocket money on a crappy lucky dip.  In amongst the other rubbish were these three little plastic cats.  I kinda love this shot.

#APC12 - Day 13 - #PURPLE

Also Friday the 13th...  Just thought I'd mention that.

A real tough one. Purple.

I thought of Whoopi Goldberg from the Colour Purple and then saw lots of purple things.  Like my daughter who was dressed entirely in purple with a purple flower and was also carrying a large purple bag of cat biscuits at the  moment I looked at her with this kaupapa in my mind.

But I was like "Meh!"

So I took a photo of a beautiful purple painting that hangs above my computer screen at work.  I have it there to help me focus on the beautiful things in life and to help transport me away to my "Happy Place"

I scored this sweet Hawai'ian Tiki Waka Ama painting from an op shop in 2010

#APC12 - Day 12 - #SMOKE

There were a lot of beautiful photos of plumes of smoke wafting out of people's mouths, but I just couldn't  bring myself to promote such a disgusting habit. So I went with this:

#APC11 - Day 11 - #STONE

My bowl of word stones on my desk in my office.

#APC12 - Day 10 #PAPER

Paper, paper all around but not a ream to print.

I wanted to express the sustainability issue so crouched under my office desk at work and snapped this:

#APC12 - Day 9 - #HOT

Another double whammy day - just because there are so many ways of expressing this, and because I am so indecisive!
My 3 year old signing "HOT"

The glorious "HOT" sun, streaming down upon us

#APC12 - Day 8 - #BRIDGE

Today I had to share two photos, because, well just because:

This was my first one, when I thought I wouldn't make it out of the house
And then I took this one, when I took my bicycle for an outing

#APC12 - Day 7 - #NOISE

I considered a photo of both of my kids, or just my son.  Because if I had to describe him using only one word, it would "NOISE".

But then I thought that no one else would get that, so I dragged out my old trumpet that I got when I turned 21.

And then got one of my girl to blow on it.

#APC12 - Day 6 - #TSHIRT

I knew that the newsfeed for this one was going to be a whole lot of people's fav t shirts, which is cool, but I just wanted to do something that stood out.  (and also because I didn't want to actually model a t-shirt *shudder at the thought*)

So I did this:

A T SHIRT NINJA!

#APC12 - Day 5 - #SCREEN

My daughter thought of this concept.  I was sitting on my bed that morning going "Hmmm Screen, screen, screen, TV screen? Computer screen?  Screen door?" and my clever daughter said "Or you could take a photo of the screen printer, Mama"

I mean HELLO?  We have a gigantic screen printer that takes up most of our garage space!  What an excellent idea!!!

So we trudged out to our hori as garage and snapped some shots.

One of the screens still on the carousel from the last mission.  If you look really carefully you can see my beautiful bicycle!  ( note to self: must work in my cruiser beauty into the #APC)

#APC12 - Day 4 - #HEELS

I had many plans for this one, including photographing some nasty cracked heels that I see on a regular basis at work (lol) but I just couldn't manage to make it look "Romey" so I went with a pretty literal interpretation (again)

But these do happen to be some of my all time favourite shoes:

#APC12 - Day 3 - #CHAIRS

Today was the day I realised that the law of attraction was in full swing for me.  I started seeing chairs, chairs, chairs everywhere.  Which isn't that magical really because chairs do happen to be everywhere.

I took several photos of chairs all over the place.  At home, in my office, in our boardroom, at a restaurant.  But I just wasn't happy with my finds.  I had a certain image in mind, and that was of a huge stack of old-skool school chairs. and I just didn't know where I was going to see that.  But as luck (and the law of attraction) would have it, that night at Zumba I found them.  Literally hundreds of wooden school chairs.  I would have seen them several times at Zumba on the many occasions that I have been over the past two years but never paid attention to them.

Old-Skool School chairs
The next day, after I walked my girl to school and turned around to head back to my office, I could not believe what I found on someone's front lawn.

The best photo ever!!!
Legless
I love the retro feel of this shot.  The chairs (sans legs) are very late 1970's early 80's and the house itself is super duper retro.  LOVE IT!

#APC12 - Day 2 - #HEADPHONES

My daughter's Moshi Headphones - leaning up against the crusty, filthy kitchen windowsill.  All  I can say is Hallelujah for those awesome effects - that can make my household dirt look quaint and "vintagey"  lol

April 2012 Photo Challenge - Instagram - Day 1 - The #APC12 Lisa

I've been a user of Instagram for as long as I've had an iPhone, (which for the record has been exactly 6 months)  I absolutely love the retro effects and the sharing.

A good friend of mine that I also follow on instagram was doing the #MPC12 which I waited for on a daily basis and thoroughly enjoyed.

So when the #APC12 rolled around I asked if she would mind if I jumped on board, and of course because she's so awesome, she didn't!

Here's the list - which also acts as the challenge for the first day.  A sneaky screen capture fulfilled the challenge for me.
